Digital gardening (v6!)

I miss the old Web. Building in plain sight, trying out ideas, leaving loose ends and trailing thoughts. Clawing back a corner of the Internet to call your own. Doesn't that sound nice?

Minimize friction in the process between creating and publishing. Write more, share more, grow more. And refine that process as soon as possible.

And since I can't not experiment, I've taken Claude out to trot on Javascript-heavy backend work, which has freed me up considerably for all things frontend.

Whistles against fascism

To date, I've printed and shipped >1,600 extremely loud emergency whistles to my good friends and former neighbors in Minneapolis.

I hope to make a landing page tracking the variants I've made over time, with photos, and links to resources for others with 3D printers to finally put them to good use.

Home remodeling & woodworking

After a move to Chicago, a return to making by hand. It's been as exciting as it is anxiety inducing, but always a sense of progress. Project write-ups abound.

A woodworking class at the Chicago Industrial Art & Design Center should help me remember how to step back into the woodshop.

Photography

I gifted myself a Ricoh GR IV and I'm trying to remember how to be behind a dedicated camera, just for the sake of taking a photo. Some of them have turned out so lovely, but the winter grey is a bit soul-sucking.
